Leonora Souza Paula, Ph.D., co-founded Black Women Shaping AfroFutures and the Sister Circle Mentoring Program. She is a Fellow of Vital Voices Global Partnership, the Research Institute for Structural Change, the Human Rights Center at the University of California Berkeley School of Law, and the American Council of Learned Societies.
Her current research examines the role of Black spatial imagination in claiming literature and culture as a form of heritage preservation and epistemic reparation.
She has over 10 years of experience working in higher education institutions and nonprofit organizations, developing strategies to build inclusive communities and cultivate coalitions around common anti-racist and gender equity agendas.
